Traffic Control Flagger

Traffic Control Flagger/Driver


PowerComm Construction is looking to hire a dedicated and observant flagger/driver to monitor the flow of traffic around road construction sites. The flagger’s responsibilities include informing motorists of possible detour routes.  You should be able to direct emergency vehicles safely through construction zones as required.


 

360 Vehicle Inspections and Fluids

Setting up signs, cones, stands as needed per TCP (Traffic Control Plans)

Attaching or detaching arrow board when needed (app 50lbs)

Removing all signs, barricades, and traffic cones upon completion of construction work

Flagging, standing with paddle boards up to 2 to stop and allow traffic to move through construction site in a safe manner

Good communication skills with other flaggers

Informing construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety

Assist vehicles coming in and out of work site

Lifting or relocation all signs and cones stands as needed.

Guide pedestrians around work area

Complete work ticket daily and place in night box

 

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a 3 years’ clean driving record

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Knowledge of and ability to comply with all relevant traffic laws and regulations

Ability to perform routine maintenance on truck

Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS directions

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with project managers and site supervisors

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate with a team to meet project deadlines
